National Scholarships Portal provides a great platform for the students to check the scholarship schemes announced by the Union/ State Governments and apply for them. It is a one-stop solution through which various services starting from student application, application receipt, processing, sanction and disbursal of various scholarships to Students are enabled. National Scholarships Portal is taken as Mission Mode Project under National e-Governance Plan. Candidates can update their profile and filter out the schemes for which they are eligible to apply. Also, they can apply for the schemes on National Scholarships Portal only.
Objectives of NSP
The National Scholarship Portal was created to meet the following requirements:
- One of the main objectives was to provide a Simplified, Mission-oriented, Accountable, Responsive and Transparent (SMART) System for faster & effective disposal of Scholarships applications.
- To deliver the scholarship funds directly into beneficiaries account without any leakages.
- The Mission Mode Project (MMP) of NSP under the National e-Governance Plan aims at providing common electronic portal for implementing various Scholarships schemes launched by Union Government, State Government and Union Territories across the country.
- Ensure timely distribution of Scholarships to students Provide a common portal for various Scholarships schemes of Central and State Governments.
- Create a transparent database of scholars Avoid duplication in processing Harmonization of different Scholarships schemes & norms Application of Direct Benefit Transfer.

राष्ट्रीय छात्रवृत्ति पोर्टल
राष्ट्रीय छात्रवृत्ति पोर्टल छात्रों को संघ / राज्य सरकारों द्वारा घोषित छात्रवृत्ति योजनाओं की जांच करने और उनके लिए आवेदन करने के लिए एक बड़ा मंच प्रदान करता है. इसके माध्यम से आवेदन, आवेदन प्राप्ति, प्रसंस्करण, अनुमोदन और छात्रवृत्ति के वितरण जैसी विभिन्न सेवाएं ऑनलाइन और आसान तरीके से करवाई जाती हैं।
राष्ट्रीय छात्रवृत्ति पोर्टल को राष्ट्रीय ई–गवर्नेंस योजना के तहत मिशन मोड प्रोजेक्ट के रूप में लिया जाता है। यहाँ उम्मीदवार अपनी प्रोफ़ाइल को अपडेट कर सकते हैं और उन योजनाओं को फ़िल्टर कर सकते हैं जिनके लिए वे आवेदन करने के पात्र हैं। इसके अलावा, वे राष्ट्रीय छात्रवृत्ति पोर्टल पर ही उन योजनाओं के लिए आवेदन भी कर सकते हैं।
How to Register Yourself on NSP [National Scholarship Portal] – scholarships.gov.in?
- Students need to visit the portal at first i.e. www.scholarships.gov.in.
- Students applying for scholarship for the first time need to “Register” on the portal as fresh applicant.
- You need to fill up “Student Registration Form” with accurate and authenticated information.
- Before initiating registration process, students advised to keep their Educational and other documents such as Aadhaar number, Enrollment number, Bank passbook etc. in hand.
- Students required to provide their domicile state correctly as the “Application Id” allotted to them will be based on domicile state and once allotted it cannot be changed under any circumstances.
- This application Id will also used as “Login Id” on the portal and for future references.
How to apply for any Scholarship Scheme?
- You need to login to the portal with the provided Application ID and Password.
- Now, enter details in your profile.
- Provide the personal, educational and bank details.
- Now, the list of schemes available as per your eligibility will appear there.
- Select the scheme and apply for it.
- Upload the documents required there.
- Print the application for future reference.
